From what i have read Parerga und Paralipomena was a recapitulation and additional thought arrived at by Schopenhauer in the latter part of his life. If you already have his previous works this book is redundant. It might serve as an introduction to Schopenhauer's philosophy in one lengthy book/5(5).

Parerga is easier to read than his other books, with the exception of his two essays on morality. Try to get Vol. I as well, but if you must choose, get Vol.
